The frame

In November, 2002, the European Network of the Digital Cities began the organization of a new cycle of European Days which, in regular interval, allow the European actors to meet and to collaborate together on common projects.

The City of Paris, by awarding its label "Paris Europe" to the RVN wished that the capital is in the center of such meetings.

The last days

It was the case on November 18th, 2002 with day organized in the City hall on the subject " ICT: how communities renew their relations with the inhabitants " and which the opening was assured by Madam Danielle Auffray, alderwoman of Paris for the new technologies.

It was again the case to Logroņo, capital of the region of Rioja in Spain, where "the numeric city of tomorrow" was the subject of the meetings of May 12th and the conclusion of which was presented by Mister Pierre Rival, director of madam Auffray's cabinet.

It will still be the case on June 25th with day dedicated to the subject "the new learned territories".

The program
THE NEW LEARNED TERRITORIES
Day organized by the European Network of the Digital Cities (RVN)
City Hall of Paris - Room 3 ( 1st floor) - In June 25th, 2003 - 10 hours-17 hours

10:00 am: reception

10:30 am - 11:30 am: conference of Marie-Paule Verlaeten, ( International Centre of the world economy of the knowledges), " The creativity: a strategic vision for the local territories "

11:30 am - 1:00 pm: workshop Recherche

Every European day of the numeric cities tries hard to present research works which can directly concern the territorial actors, this notably in the field of the virtual reality.

1:00 pm - 2:30 pm: free lunch

2:30 pm - 4:30 pm: Round Table : " Learning cities and quoted knowledges: the big challenge "

At the dawn of a necessary movement of territorial production of knowledges, it is essential to understand better how exchanges of knowledges can contribute to create polarities of innovation, how places, spaces and technologically innovative territories can generate knowledge and contribute to their structuralization and finally what makes, at the bottom(really), that a territory or that a city is more able to promote the transfer of knowledge?

A numeric territory is at first a space capable of producing, of managing and of distributing some knowledge and of contributing to the creation of a real environment of learning.

Such an approach - that the presentations of the Round Table will to have to clarify and to validate - makes today obsolete many definitions taking into account the only creation of infrastructures.

The debate will develop around the presentation of "numeric Slovenia " by Marko Milosavljevic (Faculty of Social Science of Ljubljana).

Laura Garcia Vitoria and Florence Tressols's intervention.

4:30 pm - 5:00 pm: presentation of the activities of the European Network of the Digital Cities

Days organized by the European Network of the Digital Cities are of free and free access.
